THE CONCEPT Starting April 8 th in Beaumont Texas and ending May 27 th in Honolulu Hawaii , HELLGIG AMERICA is a working man's comedy tour. If you want to see it, hold still and they'll be there soon. Forsaking comfy tour busses and airplanes for the confines of a rental car, the plan is to do the contiguous lower 48 by ground travel alone. Washington to Alaska and Alaska to Hawaii are the only two flights allowed, if they want to make comedy history they're going to have to earn it! Picking up partners in crime along the way, seeking out new crowds, new laughs and new friends; HELLGIG is about more than a bunch of dudes telling jokes. The goal of HELLGIG AMERICA is to show how stand-up comedy really exists in our country. Come bear witness to our attempt and have a damn good laugh. We will be filming for a documentary feature and recording audio for broadcast on XM satellite radio, but this isn't a look-how-cool-we-are trip or a corny UN-reality show. We are out to show America an uncensored, unsweetened glimpse of what comics go through to make you laugh. There are no immunity idols, challenges or voting out in HELLGIG AMERICA ! Come be a part of something REAL and exciting-and tip the waitstaff. We aim to expose the modern American Vaudeville in search of our national sense of humor. The most common comedy audience experience isn't at all what they'd have you believe! 90% or better of the people who attend live stand-up shows AREN'T going to theaters and arenas to see the mega big names, they ARE going to neighborhood bars and one-nighters to see WHOEVER is there-be they on their way up or on the way down. Now while John, Tommy and Chuck are funny talented original comedians, they are not unique. There are already two thousand or more other highly skilled comedy professionals scattered all over the US performing every night of the week. Just as every baseball legend toiled thanklessly in the minors before getting a shot at success and fame, all the big names and legends of comedy paid their dues on the road in one way or another. John, Tommy and Chuck are doing the same as thousands before them, paying their dues and showing you the receipt. HELLGIG AMERICA is not just a comedy tour or a film project, it is a movement and an invasion that has already happened. We just gave it a name. Does stardom and success wait for them at the end of the road? Only time will tell. But if it is to be, they'll have to go through hell to get there.
